Leaves: basal 4-6, cauline (1-)3-4+; blades elliptic to obovate, 35-80(-120) × 15-30(-40+) mm, lengths 2-4+ times widths, bases cuneate to rounded (sometimes ± clasping), margins entire or denticulate, apices rounded to obtuse, abaxial faces piloso-hirsute (hairs 1.5-4 mm), sometimes stellate-pubescent as well, adaxial piloso-hirsute. Heads (12-)20-50+ in open, corymbiform arrays (lengths of arrays ± 2 times diams.). Peduncles stellate-pubescent and stipitate-glandular. Calyculi: bractlets 5-12+. Involucres campanulate, 8-11 mm. Phyllaries 9-13+, apices acute to acuminate, abaxial faces stellate-pubescent and stipitate-glandular. Florets 20-50+; corollas yellow, 10-12+ mm.
