Sand and gravel bars, limestone soils, Larrea flats, mesquite savannas, roadsides, disturbed sites; 700-1600 m; Ariz., N.Mex., Tex.; Mexico (Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas).
